EndyMed FSR – Aftercare Instructions
Thank you for choosing The Doctors Laser Clinic for your EndyMed FSR treatment. This advanced radiofrequency treatment effectively stimulates your skin’s natural regenerative processes for improved texture and firmness. To ensure the best possible outcome and a smooth recovery, please follow these aftercare instructions carefully. Please note that individual responses may vary, so if you have any specific concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Please note, this advice applies specifically to patients who have had an EndyMed FSR treatment.
1. Immediate Post-Treatment Care
Redness & Warmth: You may experience some redness and warmth in the treated area, similar to mild sunburn. This should subside within 48 hours.
Soothing Sensation: Your skin might feel warm and tight. This sensation typically disappears within a few hours.
Gentle Treatment: For the first 48 hours, treat your skin gently. Avoid scrubbing, rubbing, or using harsh products.
2. Sun Exposure & UV Protection
Avoid Direct Sunlight: Your skin will be more sensitive following EndyMed FSR. Avoid direct sun exposure as much as possible.
Sunscreen is Essential: If you must be outdoors, apply a broad-spectrum, high-SPF sunscreen (SPF 30+ or higher) to the treated area. Reapply frequently.
3. Skincare Routine
Lukewarm Water Cleansing: Use lukewarm water to cleanse your skin for the first 2 days after treatment.
Avoid Active Ingredients: Refrain from using normal skincare products, particularly those containing active ingredients (e.g., retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, vitamin C serums), until your skin has fully recovered. We can advise when you can return to your normal routine.
Gentle Products: After the initial 48 hours, gradually reintroduce your skincare products, starting with gentle, hydrating options.
Moisturise: Maintain a good skincare routine, stay hydrated, and use sunscreen to protect the skin and enhance the longevity of the results.
4. Makeup
Postpone Makeup Application: Avoid applying makeup to your skin for at least 48 hours, and ideally 72 hours, after treatment. This allows the skin to breathe and reduces the risk of irritation.
5. What to Expect (Normal Side Effects)
Swelling: Mild to severe swelling is common and should resolve within a few days to weeks.
Redness: Redness is expected and usually subsides within a few days.
Itching: Itching may occur.
Rash: A mild rash can sometimes develop.
Discomfort: Some discomfort is possible.
Gridding/Track Marks: You may notice a gridding pattern on the skin where the treatment was applied. This is temporary.
Purging/Breakouts: Some patients experience temporary breakouts after the treatment as the skin purges impurities.
6. Managing Potential Complications (Contact the Clinic Immediately)
Intensifying Itching/Rash: If itching or a rash intensifies and is not resolved with antihistamines.
Bacterial Infection/Cold Sore Outbreak: Development of fever, pus/oozing, or worsening raised rashes.
Blistering/Broken Skin/Wounds: Blistering, broken skin, or wounds should be reported immediately. Keep the affected area moist and avoid direct sunlight.
Allergic Reaction: Possible allergic reaction (rare).
7. Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH) and Hypopigmentation
PIH/Hypopigmentation: Some patients may experience temporary changes in skin pigmentation (darkening or lightening). Protecting your skin from the sun is crucial to prevent PIH (Post Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation). These changes usually resolve over time.
8. Follow-Up & Communication
Stay on Schedule: Follow-up sessions may be recommended to maintain and enhance results.
Contact Your Practitioner: If you experience any unusual or prolonged side effects, or if you have any concerns, please contact your practitioner immediately.
