What are thread veins?
Thread veins, also known as broken capillaries, are unsightly red streaks and blotches under the skin. They typically occur on the face due to ageing, sun damage, or hormone imbalances. Prominent veins can also appear on the legs, being red, blue, or purple. Like facial thread veins, leg veins can be embarrassing, making patients feel unable to show their legs.
Here at The Doctors Laser Clinic, we offer a variety of bespoke Harmony targeted laser and IPL treatments to successfully eliminate unsightly veins and capillaries.

Frequently Asked Questions
During your consultation with us, we’ll answer any questions or concerns you may have.
During Thread Vein treatment, an intense flash of light heats and seals off the veins, causing them to collapse. The body absorbs these veins within 2-3 weeks. Avoiding sun exposure before the treatment is essential. Use high-factor SPF 2-4 weeks before and after the procedure.
The area is cleansed during treatment, and a cooling gel is applied. Photos are taken for progress tracking, and a patch test is conducted to check for allergies. Depending on the severity, the treatment lasts 10 to 60 minutes and may cause a stinging sensation.
After Thread Vein treatment, the skin may feel hot and appear slightly sunburnt but will quickly subside. No specific downtime is needed, but sun exposure should be avoided. Fine facial veins may need only one treatment, while larger leg veins might require top-ups.
