There are microneedling treatments and then there is the RF microneedling treatment.
Pixel RF is one of the advanced devices we use at The Doctors Laser Clinic to increase new tissue formation and stimulate new collagen, whilst tightening and resurfacing the skin. It uses a technology called Micro Plasma, combined with radio frequency energy. It is a non-invasive treatment.
What Skin conditions can Radio Frequency Microneedling treat?
Microneedling treatments are effective for various conditions including stretch marks, acne, scarring, sun damage, and age spots whilst also reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and large pores.
As with all the machines and devices we use here at The Doctors Laser Clinic, the Pixel RF has been carefully selected by us for its excellent efficacy, safety, faster healing time and its amazing results.
How does The Pixel RF Work?
The Pixel RF microneedling device works by effectively heating the skin using controlled and focused radiofrequency energy, directed onto the skin.
It differs from other similar machines in the way that it causes minimal damage and less disturbance to the skin’s outer layer and thus boasts a faster healing time.
Pixel RF causes micro-damage to the lower layers of the skin in order for the skin to heal this damage. The process is designed to stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin. The benefit of the newly created collagen and elastin is a smoothing and tightening effect of the skin. This effect is known as the wound healing response.
The Pixel RF is suitable for more delicate areas of the face where lasers may not be suitable, for example, the areas around the eyes. The Pixel RF is safe for use on all skin types.

During the treatment your skin may feel warm and you may experience a small amount of discomfort. Mild swelling similar to sunburn may be observed. This will vary from patient to patient. Those with sensitive skin may notice redness more.
Visible changes in the skin develop after the Pixel RF treatment and will be showing in approximately 3-4 months. Improvements will start to show within a few days of the treatment and increase over the following weeks as collagen continues to form. The Pixel RF is commonly used on the facial area but it can also be used to treat skin imperfections in other areas of the body, including the neck and chest areas.
The Pixel RF is suitable for all patients wanting to have smoother skin with fewer wrinkles and fewer skin imperfections. We do not recommend the treatment for patients who have been taking Roaccutane in the preceding six months, patients with a history of keloid scarring, patients in pregnancy and patients with a current skin infection.
You can continue with your normal activities after the Pixel RF treatment. The Pixel RF does disturb the outer layer skin cells of the skin, and you should expect to notice small redness and swelling, but this tends to be minimal. You will be provided with aftercare information and advice post treatment.
This varies from patient to patient. Further treatments may be required to get your desired level of results but some patients are happy to have the one treatment.
