Due to the amount of emails and other messages we get, we thought it would be a good idea to answer some of these questions on this page. How long does Botox take to work?
You can expect Botox to start working after 3 days or so but it might be 2-3 weeks to see the full results.
How much does Botox cost?
Botox prices start at £175 for one area at The Doctors Laser Clinic in Norwich.
Can you exercise after Botox?
Most doctors will recommend that you wait at least 24 hrs before exercising.
Can you fly after Botox?
It is always best to wait 2 days before flying in case of minor side effects, such as bruising. If you had not had injectable treatments before it might be better to leave it a bit longer before flying. There are no scientific reasons to avoid flying after having botox treatments.
How long after Botox can you wear makeup?
You should not wear any make up for the first 4-6 hours after the treatments. There is no real definitive answer on this but you may wish to consider that some doctors recommend 1 day, some 1-2 days.
Can you drink alcohol before Botox?
The longer you go without alcohol before a botox treatment the better. You should definitely wait at least 24 hours. One of the reasons is that alcohol can thin the blood, which increases the risk of bruising.
Can you smoke after Botox?
Smoking, although not recommended, should not have any negative effects on the botox treatment. It may prolong recovery, and of course, is damaging to the skin and general health.
What is baby Botox?
Baby Botox is the same as having Botox, it just uses a different technique. The only difference is that baby Botox uses much smaller amounts.
What not to do after Botox?
After Botox please refrain from smoking (as long as possible), alcohol (at least 24 hours) vigorous exercise (24 hours), and avoid touching the area, or causing anything to touch it, if possible (24 hours). Avoid direct sunlight (48 hours)
How long for a Botox bruise to go away?
Not all patients experience bruising. Those that do tend to have light bruising that lasts for 2 or 3 days. In some cases the bruising may last longer.
Can I lie down after Botox?
You should avoid lying down for 4 hours after the botox treatment.
Can you shower after Botox?
Yes, but care should be taken with heat after Botox. Don’t have the water hot and don’t allow the room to get too warm. Do not touch your face in the area you had your injections if you can, but very gentle washing is ok. Try to wait 24 hours before showing if you can.
Does Botox work immediately?
Botox usually takes a few days to start showing effects. The maximum results should be shown before the 14 day mark. Every patient is different in this regard.
How often do you need Botox?
3-4 months is the standard guide time before botox starts to wear off. This is based on the average patient but in some cases this may be a little more, maybe a little less.
Can I sleep on my side after Botox?
Yes, provided you have waited 4 hours. Some doctors recommend that you avoid sleeping on your front for the first night after having Botox.
Is Botox vegan?
Botox is not derived from animal products but as it is classed as a medicine, by law (In the UK at least) it must have been tested on animals at some point.
Who can give Botox injections in the UK?
Anyone can give Botox injections in the UK however, it must only be prescribed by a registered medical professional. It is highly recommended to visit a medical professional for Botox treatments – A Doctor, Nurse or Dentist.
Can I wash my face after Botox?
Yes, but try to wait a few hours if you can, and when you do, be very gentle, and don’t use water that is hot.
