Second and subsequent syringes
Usually only one syringe needed unless part of liquid facelift.
As we grow older, the collagen and elastin around the chin and cheek reduce. The skin begins to sag and the fatty deposits in the face diminish. Marionette lines often give people a sad or grim expression.
Fillers such as Belotero and Radiesse are injected below the skin, usually using a canula and they have a volumizing effect. Radiesse is made up of calcium hydroxyapatite microspheres. Belotero fillers are HA fillers – a substance which is naturally present in our bodies. The result is very natural. Our clients often report friends and coworkers commenting on how ‘fresh’ and ‘well rested’ they look.
What can I expect after my treatment
The results of fillers are immediate. However, for some people swelling and/or bruising can occur. The swelling is not usually noticeable for more than a day or so and at worst should go down within a week or two. Some bruising and redness can sometimes happen.
The unique formulation of Radiesse stimulates the production of new collagen. More collagen means firmer and smoother looking skin. This means that although the treatment shows immediate results, the underlying tissues continue to improve with time. Belotero and Radiesse can be used as a liquid face lift.
How long will the effect last
The effect lasts from 12 to 18 months depending on how your body reacts to the filler.
Are there any risks
There are usually not a lot of risks associated with Belotero HA filler and Radiesse. It is, however, extremely important to choose experienced professionals who understand the anatomy of the face as well as the product to make sure you get the desired result. The Doctors Laser Clinic is run by three family GPs with years of experience in this area.
There is no need for allergy testing, since the substance is already present in our body. Other risks include, bruising, discomfort, swelling and redness as well as nodules (bumps or lumps in the treated area). These should go away within the first couple of weeks. Most problems associated with Merz fillers resolve with time as they are not permanent and will be dissolved within the body within 12 to 18 months.
