Different lasers do different things
This is where most websites baffle people with technical jargon. On occasions, it seems so confusing that the safest thing to do is retreat gracefully and pour a stiff gin and tonic!
Besides…..lasers were surely meant to be used to kill Space Invaders and target enemies on the battlefield. The fact that their judicious use in the hands of a skilled doctor or nurse may actually do you a great deal of good has only come about in the last 30 years or so.
Horses for courses.
In order to cover the full gamut of skin conditions we need at least 4 lasers and a number of specialist IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) heads.
To fully appreciate how and why each laser works in different circumstances takes a lot of understanding. What is even more confusing is how two or three lasers can be used to treat the same condition.
On the other hand one laser such as the Nd:YAG can be used to treat a dozen or more different problems!
What is really important is consulting with someone who can properly assess your skin and make the correct decision on which laser or combination of lasers is best for you.
